Sample answer

I do not rush the last ten minutes. Fitting rooms are empty, the floor is recovered enough that the next open is not left with the mess, cash is counted and dropped the way this store does it, doors are checked, and the alarm is set. I leave a note the open team can use — what did not get done, and what open needs to know. If a count is off, I do not guess and go home. I recount, I write it down, and I call if that is the rule. Keys are not a title. They mean I am the last person who can still put the building at risk.

Sample answer

I handle the floor first — move the customer off the main walk, use the policy I have, and keep the team from freezing. A register issue I can document and move to another till is mine. I call the manager when it is safety, a cash miss I cannot resolve, an alarm I cannot set, or a decision that spends the store’s money beyond what keys are allowed to do. Calling because I am uncomfortable is different from calling because the building needs a manager. I take a name, I write what happened, and I do not invent a yes I cannot keep just to avoid the phone.
