Why do you want to work here — and why retail at all?
Sample answer
I want work that is people and product in the same hour. I am not looking for a job where I sit still. I shop stores like this, I know the floor gets messy, and I want a team that sells instead of staying at the register. I am applying because I can work weekends, I can learn the product, and I want a store where I can grow if I earn it. I can work a full shift, and I will be here for the hours I commit to.

Sample answer
I will give the real schedule in the interview, because a surprise later costs the team coverage. I am open for the peak hours this store needs, and I will name those hours. If I cannot work a peak window, I say so. I can work holidays unless I already committed one date — I will name it. I will not say “whatever you need” if I have another job or school. A hiring manager would rather hear a clean schedule than a flexible answer that falls apart in week two.
